$1,500 Bullying Prevention Staff Training Grants
Welcome to the Act Now! Bullying Prevention Staff Training grant opportunity. All K4-8 Wisconsin schools are eligible to be awarded one of 25 $1,500 staff training grant opportunities, made possible by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in partnership with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. The focus of these grants is to support schools’ efforts to participate in both the Act Now! Staff Training and student e-learning bullying prevention courses to reduce the impact of bullying and improve school climate in their communities.
Research shows that schools able to make the greatest impact against bullying have ensured that staff and students alike are trained on strategies to address bullying behaviors. The Act Now! Bullying Prevention Staff Training program will teach your team to understand what bullying behaviors look like, to identify where bullying is occurring in your school and to develop a unified plan for addressing bullying behaviors when they occur.
The staff training commitment includes: planning time for your school champion, four one-hour all-staff sessions, the time needed to implement the school-wide survey and small group work. In addition, a minimum of one classroom must complete the student version of Act Now!.
Review the complete list of grant expectations. (Once your grant application has been accepted, your school will be asked to sign the Agreement for Funding of Act Now! Bullying Prevention Staff Training.)
Grant award notifications will go out in early November. Schools receiving a grant award will then be asked to complete the Agreement for Funding of Act Now! Bullying Prevention Staff Training.
