$2,500 Bullying Prevention Staff Training Stipends Are Now Available for 2023-2024 School Year

Wisconsin K-8 schools are eligible to apply for one of five $2,500 stipends to be used to train staff using the Children's Wisconsin Act Now! Bullying Prevention Staff Training course in the 2023-2024 school year. If selected, K-8 schools can be reimbursed up to $2,500 for staff training time compensation. The Act Now! Staff Training course is available at no cost to all Wisconsin schools, as are the Act Now! student e-learning courses for grades K-12

Made possible by Children's Wisconsin in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, the focus of this work is to support schools' efforts to participate in staff training, student e-learning courses, and the parent/caregiver component, ParentsActNow.com. Research shows that schools make the greatest impact when both students and staff are trained on strategies to address bullying behaviors, along with providing parents and caregivers reliable bullying prevention resources.

The Children's Wisconsin Act Now! Bullying Prevention Staff Training program will teach your team to understand what bullying behaviors look like, how to identify where bullying is occurring in your school, and how to develop a unified plan for addressing bullying behaviors when they occur, with the ultimate goal of improving the overall climate in your school community.

The staff training allows all staff to complete the online portion of the training independently, and then come together as a group for an all-staff meeting to review the elements of the course and then have the opportunity to work together on a school-wide campaign. A school champion plans and coordinates the overall training and is responsible for planning and administering the essential school-wide survey, facilitating the one to 1-1/2 hour all-staff meeting, completing the staff compensation payroll documentation form, and participating in a final phone interview with an external evaluator.

Step 1

Review the complete list of stipend expectations. Once your stipend application has been accepted, your school will be asked to sign the Agreement for Funding of Act Now! Bullying Prevention Staff Training. Be sure to review the Agreement for Funding prior to submitting your application.

Step 2

Complete the stipend application.  Only one application per school for the 2023-2024 school year is permitted.

Step 3

Schools awarded a stipend will be asked to complete the Agreement for Funding. Upon completion of the Act Now! Staff Training course by April 1, 2024, submission of the detailed payroll report by April 19, 2024, and completion of the phone interview with an external evaluator by April 26, 2024, Children's will send the stipend check to each awarded school.
