May 4, 2021
Healthy Minds 5th Grade, the third in our series of e-learning courses focusing on mental and emotional health, is now available for teachers and counselors to use with their fifth grade students. As the end of this challenging school year approaches, Healthy Minds 5th Grade is a perfect way to provide students with valuable information and the tools needed to stay mentally and emotionally healthy throughout the summer.
This fun and interactive course provides an engaging look at what makes a healthy mind, and teaches students strategies to improve their mental and emotional health. Specifically, students will learn how to be empathetic and support others, how to manage interpersonal conflict, how to idntify feelings of sadness and depression, and how and when to ask for help when they are struggling mentally or emotionally. As students move through the course, they will learn the important skills needed to help them lead healthy lives, including setting goals and communicating effectively. Students will also enjoy an upbeat "Healthy Minds" song, and two fun games, Friend Code and Miguel's Wild Ride, that reinforce what they've learned.
The program aligns with National Health Education Standards and Wisconsin State Health Education Standards and is an innovative way to include the vital topic of mental and emotional health in your end of the school year plan. You will be able to track students' progress in the course, and pre- and post-tests allow you to see their knowledge and comprehension as they move through the course.
