Grades 6 - 8
Adrian, a student in the imaginary town of Westport, has died. Everyone knows it was from a drug overdose, but which drugs and why? Will another Westport student overdose at the next party? Can you prevent it from happening?
Your students will meet Westporters Monica, Seth, Michael, and LaToya as they learn about different drugs and their effects. Conversations at school and with the police reveal more about what happened to Adrian. A virtual cell phone and journal will help students keep track of clues along the way.
Using the latest research on game-based learning, It’s Up 2 U explores the effects and consequences of using marijuana, tobacco, alcohol, inhalants, over-the-counter and prescription drugs. Students make choices throughout the game and see the results of those choices. Pre- and post-tests, as well as interactive quizzes throughout the program, allow you to track your students’ knowledge and comprehension as you go.

A complete program that blends kids’ love of technology with a standards-based curriculum that encourages critical thinking and decision making, It’s Up 2 U is powerful, effective and current with today’s most pressing drug problems.
