New Mission: Healthy Kids program offers free resources for educators and families!
November 17, 2017
Thanks to a generous donation from Kohl’s Corp., Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin has launched a new program called Mission: Healthy Kids, designed to raise awareness about how healthy eating and active living support a child’s physical development, ability to learn, and emotional well-being.
Through the program, Wisconsin kids and families will learn how to eat right, stay fit, and feel good about their bodies. Within the newly launched website, missionhealthykids.org, kids, parents, and educators will find free resources to help in this mission.
For Educators: Mission: Healthy Kids promotes policy, systems, and environmental changes in schools that improve health. In collaboration with the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, the program provides details and support to schools interested in earning the Wisconsin School Health Award. In addition, the program offers free resources, including: school workshops and conferences, Children’s k-8 e-learning health education courses, Healthy Schools’ challenges, classroom activities, and more.
For Families: Mission: Healthy Kids offers free educational resources for kids by age and stage – focusing on nutrition, physical activity, and healthy minds. Families can watch videos, download recipes and fact sheets, and engage in fun, interactive activities that start kids on the road to a healthy lifestyle.
